The initial CREATE PhD Programme, that recruited fellows from 2022 to 2026, employed a total of 23 UK fellows, and 22 African fellows.

This Programme only focussed on health needs in sub-Saharan Africa, with fellows being placed in one of our 6 African partner organisations.

This Programme recruited it's final cohort of fellows in 2026, with the last fellow due to complete their fellowship in 2031, so both CREATE Programmes will be running simultaneously.​
